I've been taking pictures professionally since 2009 & specialize in creative storytelling. My photography beginnings can be traced back to the dark room in college. I took a film class on a whim and it was love at first sight...literally :) I planned to change my major but instead choose marriage over the degree & ran off to Omaha with my military man where we swiftly had 3 children.
Thus began my photography obsession. I blame the kids for they were just too damn cute. What started as a doting mom with a camera slowly morphed into a true calling & legit business endeavor.
As a matter of fact, you could just sum me up as one of those “Momtographers," a disparaging term that surfaced on social media a few years back. Seriously, my mug should be next to the Urban Dictionary definition: a stay-at-home mom who buys a camera from Best Buy, teaches herself the basics of Photoshop, and starts her own 'photography company.'
I’m not sure who coined this phrase & what they had against moms, but if I could meet them today I’d probably lick my finger, wipe the chocolate off their face & then ask to take their picture.
Here’s the thing — what that definition misses is the work.
The years spent refining my craft, learning how to guide people who swear they’re “awkward,” understanding light, composition, and emotion, and building a business that clients trust with their most meaningful moments. Experience doesn’t always come from a classroom — sometimes it comes from real life, repetition, and showing up again and again.
In 2020, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, adding a strong design foundation to my photography. That background shapes everything I create — from how I compose an image to how your final photos are presented.
I also believe your images deserve more than a folder of digitals that never make it off your phone. That’s why I create custom, tangible photo albums — highly personal pieces designed to be held, shared, and lived with long after the session ends.
If you’re looking for a photographer who blends experience, storytelling, and thoughtful design — and who understands how fleeting these seasons really are — I’d love to create something meaningful with you.
