The more dogs I meet, the more hope I have. Dog people are my people. Those who don’t mind a little dirt on their jeans and dribble on their ice cream cones. The world and all its jittery headlines will pass away, but a dog’s loyal love is everlasting. Thanks Megan, for sharing your sweet pups with me and reminding me what life is all about: to love and be loved…
Dogs just know.
A little hug or snuggle at just the precise time and everything in the world can be made right again.
My mom forced me to get Molly when I was going through my divorce so I had something to focus on besides myself.
She used to be a therapy dog and I’d take her to visit nursing home patients to cheer them up.
Molly is independent.
She is very hard of hearing and going blind- but just as spunky as ever in all other categories!
Lucy is hard to keep calm.
She takes medication to calm her anxiety or else she rips her own fur out.
She has anxiety, and she will hide under the bed often and fears being “caught” even if you are just trying to pet her— (Lucy had a very bad experience at an away dog training school at a young age.)
Miss Lucy bothered me a lot in the beginning because she was not the exact same size as Molly – hard for me to accept as a perfectionist who loves symmetry.
She’s a goofball!
She likes to run around (zoomies) and chase balls — although she is not good at giving them back.
Due to old age, Molly doesn’t play much anymore.
I like to pick her up high or cradle her like a baby.
If Molly does play she only likes soft small yellow duck toys!!!!
Molly is 100% food motivated.
When Molly was younger we would walk to my moms house 6 miles — and stop at Dairy Queen half way and share a cone.
14 years and a lot of people have come and gone from our lives.
But us 3, we stay together no matter what.
We are our own little family. We don’t need anybody else.
Special thanks to the awesome people at Hidden Valley Orchards! If you’ve never been before- put it on your Ohio fall bucket list!
