When I pulled up to Sydney and Jim’s home, I was expecting an engagement session with their beloved golden retriever, Adelaide, and maybe a cameo or two from their cats. But as soon as I arrived, they shared a surprise — they had gotten married that very day! So our planned engagement photos became their wedding portraits instead — the most joyful kind of plot twist!
Their Springboro country home was the perfect backdrop. Gorgeous mature trees with natural light peeking through, red barn vibes, stacked wood, and of course, all that exciting newlywed energy buzzing around.
I captured them exactly as they are: laughing, happily chasing Adelaide through bursts of zoomies, and even dancing together on the lawn. After everyone (Adelaide included) had tired out, we settled by the firepit as the sun went down.
And of course, no wedding day is complete without cake. Sydney and Jim ended their night by cutting theirs — a sweet, simple finale to a day that couldn’t have been more personal.
They were so thoughtful, they even sent me home with a piece. I say it all the time, but it’s true: I have the best clients.
Congratulations Sydney, Jim & Adelaide! May you keep on living happily ever after…

Shout out to Sydney’s sister Sami, our ‘Dog Mom’ of the day! Thanks for your help coralling Adelaide, and for throwing all that ice…we couldn’t of done it without ya!
