Dogs are sacred souls...
deserving all our love. They come into our lives for a relatively short time and completely change us, softening even the hardest of hearts. They walk with us each day, sleep with us each night and never fail to greet us with wagging tails of devotion.
We think we're taking care of them, but they're the ones taking care of us.
We complain about our chewed up shoes, outrageous vet bills and frou-frou dog food and then we proceed to buy new shoes, pay the doctor and research raw food diets.
We keep these animals because they are keeping us: whole and fully alive. Gently, they heal us with their sloppy kisses and faithfulness.
Some of us take more pictures of our dogs than we do our own kids. For others of us, our dogs are our kids.
For all of us, they're family.

My dog is camera shy- is there anything you can do to help?
Many of the pups I photograph (and their people) are a bit squeamish in front of the lens. Especially if they've only worked with photographers whose focus is on perfectly posing their subjects. It gets awkward very quickly when you are treated like a mannequin or a prop in someone else's creative vision.
My goal, however, is NOT perfection, but rather, connection. You'll be amazed at how natural you feel in front of the camera by the end of our session together.
Where should we take the pictures?
I'm a big fan of "at home" sessions because dogs and their people are most relaxed in the place they spend most of their time. Our beloved memories are often humble ones, taking shape within our everyday lives.
Details such as your dog's favorite snooze spot, her chewed up squishy toy, and fetch in the backyard are simple but meaningful ways we can document your dog's days.
Of course, much depends on your unique personality. If you're an extravert, it's likely your dog is too! We can meet at a local dog park or the Home Depot. We could even go for ice cream!
What should I bring to the session?
Treats, water, toys and outfits if that's your pup's style! It can help to bring a friend or family member to have extra hands if you have more than one dog and lots to carry.
Also, don't forget them poop bags! When nature calls...
What if my dog has "issues?"
I'd be very surprised if your dog doesn't have at at least a few issues! I always expect some low level shenanigans but if your dog has any type of aggression we should probably discuss more in detail to come up with a good plan for everyone.
What if it rains?

Can I reschedule?
Absolutely! It's friggin' Ohio after all. But in peak seasons, rescheduling may get tricky. If you stay flexible so shall I!
How do and when do I pay?
Do you offer any discounts?
I proudly support military and offer Active Duty, Veterans, Reserve, Guard and their immediate family 10% sessions. Just let me know when you book and I will apply the discount to the session remainder.
When will I get my goodies?
For Dog Days Sessions I typically have your gallery, story and album ready in 4 weeks. For Moment sessions- 3 weeks. However, in peak seasons I may need 1-2 weeks more.
Shipping times for prints and photo products ordered directly from your Shop and Share Gallery vary but typically you should receive your order within 1-2 weeks. Albums take 1-2 weeks after sending to print. Don't worry, I will keep you updated with our timeline as we go!
