Katie SwiftThey deserve all our love. They come into our lives for a relatively short time and completely change us, softening even the hardest of hearts. They walk with us each day, sleep with us each night and never fail to greet us with wagging tails of devotion.
We think we're taking care of them, but they're the ones taking care of us.
We complain about our chewed up shoes, outrageous vet bills and frou-frou dog food and then we proceed to buy new shoes, pay the doctor and research raw food diets.
We keep these animals because they are keeping us: whole and fully alive. Gently, they heal us with their sloppy kisses and faithfulness.
Some of us take more pictures of our dogs than we do our own kids. For others of us, our dogs are our kids.
For all of us, they're family.

We wanted pictures of our older dog specifically, and she was able to capture so many of his personality traits in such a short period of time. Her advice to have the photos taken at home was perfect.
The story portion of our photos was such a wonderful touch and I shared it with all of my family and friends. I can't wait to work with Katie again!!

She came to our house and captured our 18 year old dog in her home environment... She was very easy to work with and was accommodating with the session due to the weather. She communicates well so you're all on the same page...We loved our photo session and book... She was patient and so kind to our Cali girl!
-Tracy, Cali's mom
There is a sacred window of time when a dog’s life begins to transition. If you are facing a terminal diagnosis or your best friend is nearing the end of their journey, please do not wait.
I hold dedicated space in my calendar for these final stories, offering high-priority scheduling and expedited delivery to capture your bond while they are still comfortable. No performance is required; we move at their pace, documenting them exactly as they are.
If you are in this season, reach out to me directly. I will make your session a priority.

She captured some final memories of our dog when we got a very sudden and unexpected terminal diagnosis. The pictures capture him perfectly and I will cherish them forever.
-Elizabeth, Mack's Mama

We wanted to get pictures with our family to include our beloved dog before he was to be put down. The pictures were so good and really captured the love between all of us. We miss him so much and appreciate the wonderful photos as a reminder of him.
-Nancy, Brutus's Mama

A dog’s life is unfairly short, and science tells us that memories are fragile. The vivid details—the silvering on a muzzle, the velvet of an ear, the soul in their gaze—are the first things to fade.
Your best friend doesn't belong in a digital graveyard on your phone.

Got Questions??
I hear you. Most of the pups (and people) I photograph are a little squeamish in front of the lens. It gets awkward very quickly when you’re treated like a mannequin or a prop in someone else’s "perfect" vision.
My goal is connection, not perfection. You’ll be amazed at how natural you both feel when we stop "posing" and start just being. We’ll focus on the quiet moments—a hand on a head, a belly rub, or a walk together. You don’t ever have to look at the camera; just look at your dog. By the end of the session, you’ll both forget I’m even there.
Not at all. Safety is my priority, and truthfully, a leash is just a physical tether for the bond you already have. For those "epic" legacy shots where you want your dog looking like they’re roaming free, I can use a bit of photographic magic to digitally remove the leash.
However, we don’t have to hide the reality of your life together. Often, a beautiful leather lead or your hand holding them close is part of the "real" story. We’ll mix it up—preserving the safety they need and the raw, honest connection you share, while cleaning up a few special captures for your gallery walls.
I’d be more surprised if they didn't! I always expect a healthy dose of shenanigans, and I’m well-versed in the art of the "difficult" subject. If your dog is reactive, nervous around strangers, or has a history of aggression, please don't feel like you can't book a session.
We simply change the game plan: we’ll choose a secluded, quiet location (or your own backyard), use long-lens "paparazzi" techniques to give them space, and move at a pace that keeps them feeling safe. Just give me a heads-up so we can strategize—your dog’s comfort and everyone’s safety are my top priorities.
These are the most important stories I tell. For our seniors, we keep things very low-impact. We can do the entire session in your living room or backyard. If they need to lie down the whole time, that’s exactly what we’ll document. Their comfort is my priority, and those quiet, still moments are often the most profound.
I’m a huge advocate for "at-home" sessions. Dogs are most relaxed where they spend the most time, and our best memories are often the humble ones: their favorite snooze spot, the sun-drenched patch on the rug, or a game of fetch in the backyard. That said, if your dog is an extrovert, let's hit a local park, an orchard, or even go for ice cream!
The "Holy Trinity": High-value treats (the really good stuff), a favorite squeaky toy, and water. It also helps to bring a "human assistant" if you have multiple dogs or lots of gear. And don't worry—I always have poop bags on hand. When nature calls, we’re ready.
Absolutely. It's friggin' Ohio after all. If the sky opens up or if your pup isn't feeling their best, we reschedule. But in peak seasons, rescheduling may get tricky. If you stay flexible so shall I!
Booking is simple. To lock in your date on my calendar, I require a $100 retainer paid via credit card online. The remaining balance is due by the day of your session and can be settled via credit card, cash, or check.
Do you offer any discounts? I am proud to support our military families. Active Duty, Veterans, Reserve, and Guard members receive a 10% thank-you discount on all sessions. Just let me know when you book, and I will apply that to your final session remainder.
Quality takes a little time, especially when we’re telling a story.
Portrait Sessions: You can expect your digital gallery within 2 weeks.
Signature & Legacy Sessions: Because these tiers include a custom-written blog story and a hand-designed album layout, the delivery time is 4 weeks.
A note on Peak Seasons: During my busiest months (typically September through November), please allow an extra week or two for processing. I put the same heart and soul into every dog’s story, and I want to ensure your gallery is perfect.
Once you’ve approved your album or print designs, shipping typically takes another 1–2 weeks. I’ll keep you updated every step of the way so you know exactly when your goodies are headed home!
