The Carsons are neighbor friends with whom we’ve traded bonfires, Christmas parties, piano lessons and senior pictures. This year, Kendra planned to gift her East Coast in-laws an extended family session for Christmas while they were in town over the holidays.

Originally, we were set to shoot at the Grotto Gardens at the Dayton VA Medical Center but as the day got closer and the temps kept falling, we decided a fire in the backyard and hot chocolate warming on the stove was much more enticing.

A white wonderland of snow, some festive outdoor decor, and a family brimming with laughter and love is all we’ll ever need to remember… there’s no place like home!
