Some sessions just feel like a big warm hug—and this was one of them. Gerrard is an old friend, and getting to photograph his beautiful family after they recently moved back to Ohio was such a treat. His wife, Dania, and their four kids are all from Florida, and it was so sweet to see them experience a real Midwest fall for the very first time.

The kids couldn’t get over the color of the leaves, the crisp air, and even the sight of pine sap! Their wonder reminded me how easy it is to take these simple seasonal joys for granted. Seeing it all through their eyes brought so much warmth and laughter to the session.

Gerrard and Dania are both pastors and church planters, and I’m so inspired by the way they lead their family with faith and joy. I can’t wait to visit their next church once it’s up and running—it’s amazing to see the ways they pour into their community.
