Everyone needs friends like Joel and Becky. Friends who send quirky Christmas cards featuring dumpsters and lumberjacks. Friends who feed their children liver popsicles and caviar. Old friends who stay in touch- who live even more Midwestern than Ohio…Nebraska!

This summer, we had the privilege of spending the 4th of July with their growing family in their new home. Like always, we spent much of the time trying to convince them to move to Ohio. But mostly we shared our “stuff” with each other…our great losses, confusion and doubt- our fear and anger.

Life has not turned out the way we once expected. Faith no longer comes easy. What a relief though, that with friends like Joel and Becky, laughter still does. Love you guys…
