After all these years photographing high school seniors, the time has come for me showcase one of our very own. Our firstborn son, David, is a senior this year at the Warren County Career. He’s in the Construction Trades program and plans to continue apprenticing in the field after graduation.
Practical and patient like his father, confident and creative like his mama, we believe David is the very best of us and so much more…
One word to describe me is Liquus.
I like to make music, write, box and workout.
I listen to rap, hip hop, indie, and soul.
I like that I am very mature for my age and I think about things a lot differently then other people.
Most people don’t know that I’ve never cheated or been dishonest to anyone that I’ve been in a romantic relationship with.
I don’t like that I have problems with self control, especially with spending money.
My favorite things are art and creativity.
Art can make us feel new feelings we’ve never felt before. For example, a certain song can make you feel sad and happy at the same time.
Art can be found everywhere all over the world and I think it is one of the main influences in almost every culture.
I think art and creativity just bring life to the world and it is one of the few things that is always good for people no matter what.
Lately I’ve been learning about the war that happened in Sierra Leone in Africa and about all the crazy and messed up stuff that happened there.
A lot of people are too afraid to speak up about certain things and sometimes there has to be someone who can do that.
I look up to people who work hard for their goals but also respect and love everyone around them, people who give back to their community with the money they make from working hard every day.
After graduation I plan to get a sturdy, well paying job and work for a while to save up for a house or apartment.
In ten years I see myself as a professional carpenter with a wife and 2 kids and a nice house.
Can you believe David chopped off all that glorious hair? Of course he’s gorgeous either way. I had to photograph him with the precious baby blanket that Grandma Fields quilted for him. David was her first great-grandchild and I’m sure she’s bragging on him up in heaven…
