Ella is an old family friend and a senior this year at Oakwood High School. She plans to have a career in theatre and to travel the world. We shot her senior session in downtown Dayton on a bright October day. We played in parking lots near the colorful K12 Tejas Art Studio, chilled on iron fences at the niche Neon and twirled dangerously in the city streets. Quiet, focused and fierce, Ella was a natural in front of my lens and it was evident that she is a bright star burning.
Ella, I hope you have an inspiring senior year full of beauty, growth and the best kind of drama!
One word to describe me is passionate.
I like how determined and passionate I am about my interests.
I’m involved in Theater, French Club, and National Honors Society.
I listen to Broadway, Rock, and French Pop.
I am pretty quiet.
I started theater later than everyone else I perform with, and sometimes I think that gives me a handicap for auditions because I don’t have as much experience.
I’ve learned that even if you do everything the way you’re supposed to, it doesn’t mean you will get it.
I’ve also learned that when laid out in a straight line, the circulatory system in your body is around 60,000 miles long.
I look up to Phillipa because she worked hard and became successful.
Now she shares her passion with the world.
You can just go anywhere and learn something new about people, nature, etc.
After graduation I plan to go to college for Musical Theater or Voice/Opera.
In ten years I hope that I will be performing in a professional production and have traveled to a few more countries.
Shout out Ella’s warrior mama Pam, who is not only a cancer fighter and survivor but also my dear, tender hearted friend. Love you sister! Keep going…
