Springtime in Ohio reminds me that I believe in miracles. Every year somehow, I forget but the daffodils, with their happy smiles invite me to remember. For her senior pictures, Niah, her mom and I explored Aullwood Garden Metropark for the first time and were delighted by the most glorious spring array any of us had ever seen in Ohio. Niah, with her bright, quirky love of gardening and opossums refreshes my weary, winter heart…
One word to describe me is inquisitive.
I am a proficient juggler, I can sing my ABCs backward and forward, I love opossums, I can probably still do a cartwheel, and I make really good muffins.
I genuinely love to learn because knowing the details of something can help inform actions and help prevent misinformation.
After graduation, I plan to go to MSU for environmental science and sustainability.
I plan on going into environmental engineering but I am sure that will change a million times before I graduate.
I listen to rock and indie music.
I love to compost, I know that sounds weird but I have spent so much time teaching myself everything there is to know about composting, I even wrote my college admissions essay about composting.
I also like to hike, garden, help my grandfather on his farm, and write.
I’ve learned that that the world won’t stop spinning if you take a break to breathe.
I’ve also learned that online school via zoom is the pits, it turns out.
In ten years I see myself working my hardest in a job I love, and hopefully, making plans to buy land for my own farm.
