Joel and Abby | The Golden Lamb Restaurant & Hotel & Courthouse Wedding
Abby and Joel made my dreams come true when they asked me to photograph their courthouse wedding. Maybe it sounds strange, but I just have a hankering for small weddings! There’s something so intimate and romantic about keeping it simple. This was my first courthouse wedding to document and hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to photograph many more. The weather in January was surprisingly sunny and mild but when you’re wearing a short, swanky wedding dress like Abby was, even 50 degrees is a bit nippy. Thankfully, the awesome peeps (ahem, Crystal at the front desk) from the glorious Golden Lamb Restaurant and Hotel graciously allowed us to use their space for some (I daresay) epic just married pictures of the newlyweds. Congratulations Abby and Joel! May you live happily ever after…and invite me to come take pictures of you again someday in Santa Fe…
We met through Hinge. He was living in Pittsburgh and planning a move to Centerville.
I thought he was handsome and funny.
We went on two dates and then we didn’t talk for a few weeks.
I thought she was great!
Smart, successful funny and attractive…
Joel texted me once the move to Centerville was complete and we started seeing each other again.
Our relationship is what many other people dream of.
He’s happy doing anything I want to do.
He’ll go with me to concerts for artists/bands he’s not familiar with, do arts and crafts, go on road trips, hang at our favorite bar (Theo’s Paragon), and stay home with our cats.
I’m able to be myself and am comfortable around her.
I admire her sense of humor.
Joel is loyal, funny, good-looking, reliable, loving, and hard working.
His career and work around the house is important to him and he enjoys doing both.
We love to travel and we’re hoping to go to Greece this year. We just bought a house and we’re doing a lot of work to it to make it our home.
We are silly and immature at home. Joel is typically polished and professional, so it’s funny when he does things like make fart noises. We’re both immature and find juvenile things funny when it’s just the two of us.
I don’t really think we have any obstacles.
We have a lot of the same goals – live comfortably, travel, retire early. We have fun together and see eye to eye on most things.
We look forward to retiring to Santa Fe, New Mexico when we’re older.
