There is something extraordinary about stepping onto a front porch and being welcomed back for the sixth year in a row. As a Springboro lifestyle family photographer, moments like these are the heart of why I do what I do.

When I arrived at the Bowers’ home, five photo albums bound in soft book cloth were waiting on the table—one for each year we’ve documented together. This session marks Album Number Six.

What I love most is why they chose bookcloth covers: they wanted albums designed to be lived with. To the Bowers, the gentle fading, worn edges, and subtle fingerprints aren’t imperfections—they’re proof that these pages are flipped through, loved, and cherished. Watching them look through all five books together reminds me why tangible print matters so much for local families building a library of their lives right here in Springboro.

We started in our usual favorite spots—catching early morning light on the front porch and moving into the cozy living room while the boys hung out and played video games. From there, we layered in all the details that make this exact season of life so unique:

Personal Spaces: We stepped into the teenagers’ bedrooms to capture Julian and Elliot in spaces that reflect their personalities right now.
Legacy & Memory: We took a moment to frame Amber in front of her art wall with a special display honoring Chad’s mother.
Sweet Zoe: Their sweet, aging dog wandered through frames all morning—and while she wouldn’t sit still for a classic pose, we got plenty of her signature trailing dog-butt cameos as she pottered around!
Wild Goldenrod: We captured family and individual portraits in front of untamed golden flowers. As a mom of teenagers—and a masterful gardener—Amber understands that sometimes we just need to let things grow on their own.
