Ohio Roots, Tennessee Soul
Nora is my gorgeous supermodel niece with Ohio roots and Tennessee soul. She sings like an angel and can turn on her country accent whenever she feels like it. She’s a senior this year and after graduation plans on following God wherever He leads.
Day One: Summer Blooms at UT Gardens
We shot her senior pictures over the course of two days while our family was visiting this July. Starting off in the heat of a summer’s day at blooming UT Gardens in Knoxville, we weaved through bright zinnias and rusty old trucks, spun through wild desert sage and skipped along hydrangea hedges. Of course, Nora made time to stop and smell the flowers and read a scripture or two underneath the welcome shade of the gazebo.
Day Two: Mountain Views & Cades Cove
The following afternoon, we headed down to Cades Cove, my sister-in-law at the wheel, chauffeuring us all through steep and swerving mountain roads while Nora played rap music a little too loud. Our journey was rewarded with sweeping valley views of the Great Smokies, wild horses and more than a few black bear sightings. We found ourselves in God’s country, gloriously insignificant, humbly elevated, small yet surrounded.
A Senior Year Blessing
Nora, may your senior year be filled with new favorite songs to sing, belly laughs and giggles at all the wrong times, and God’s love hugging you as close as your mama hugs them mountain roads…
One word to describe me is intentional.
I love to draw, sing, hang out with peeps I love, hike, and most importantly, spend time with Jesus 🙂
Most people don’t know that I love baking.
I am involved in Singers at William Blount High school, where I am gladly called president.
Besides that I am a working student and also dance at ADU.
I really love all types of music, but my Spotify thinks I’m a 75 years old!! I love Fleetwood Mac, Creed, Sade, The Beatles, Sublime, Alan Jackson, basically any throwback.
I really look up to my parents. They are both some of the most hardworking and sacrificial people I know. Love you Mom and Dad!
I’m so grateful to call the Great Smoky Mountains home, and I love to go hiking in the waterfalls there.
I love the way that nature makes you feel like you’re walking with God.
Surprisingly, life constantly reminds me to not be so judgmental and to be okay in the waiting.
My favorite quality about myself is my intuition.
But I struggle with how I laugh at everything, even things I shouldn’t laugh at!
After graduation, I want to go to college and see what the world has in store for me!
In ten years, I see myself enjoying life and worshiping God wherever he puts me.
