From Colorado to Ohio: A Honored Connection

Every once in a while, a session comes along that feels like a backstage pass to a client’s personal world. That was exactly the case with Ryan’s senior session!

Ryan’s mom, Jen, actually found me online all the way from Colorado. With deep roots and family connections right here in town, they traveled back for senior portraits, and I was so honored they trusted me to capture this huge milestone in Ryan’s life. From the moment we met, Ryan was an absolute pleasure to work with—so respectful, kind, and all smiles from start to finish.

Taking Off at Wright Brothers Airport

We kicked off our morning at Dayton Wright Brothers Airport to showcase one of his biggest passions: working toward his pilot’s license! While scheduling meant pivoting from our original sunset plan to a bright morning session, we completely rolled with it. The summer heat was definitely showing off, and the morning light was bright, but the results were worth every minute—that bold red airplane popping against the brilliant blue sky made for some seriously iconic shots.

Special Stories at Carillon Park

From there, we headed over to Carillon Historical Park—a spot that already holds many sweet memories for my own family, making it extra nostalgic to shoot there. Ryan’s family has a personal connection to the park (including his very own named horse on the iconic carousel!), which made those photos even more special.

Best Wishes for Senior Year

It was such a joy spending the morning with this wonderful family and capturing such a pivotal chapter. Wishing Ryan the absolute best as he takes off into his senior year—the sky is truly the limit!

Senior Spotlight: Read on to get to know Ryan in his own words—from his favorite things to where he’s headed in the future!

One word to describe me is compassionate.

I’m there for others and I’m respectful. I love being able to work with others and be collaborative, humble and kind.

My favorite thing about the world is the kindness other people bring. I’ve learned just how diverse the world is.

I love that people have different opinions, and we can all come together, collaborate, and create a better environment for the future. Each person has a unique view of life, and no one person is the same.

I am in student government as our class president.

Additionally, I’m in Scouts. I earned my Eagle in early 2026—as well as being heavily involved in volunteering in and outside of school.

I love helping others and putting them first, and most recently I’ve learned how to put myself in the mix as well.

Most people don’t know just how much I do inside and outside of the activities I participate in. I like to fly as well as take photos. I have a camera that I use and I just enjoy doing that, as well as singing.

People assume I’m fully committed and I only have one thing going on, but in reality, I do a great job of hiding the millions of other things going on in my life, and I love multitasking. But I can be a huge procrastinator and not get things done.

 I am also currently working on my pilot’s license.

I look up to my grandpa because he has created a very good vision of who I want to be. He is a pilot and entrepreneur and overall puts others first and puts people who may be worse off above him.

He treats everyone with equal opportunity, and I really admire that.

After high school I plan to go to a four-year college and get a degree in aviation, either meteorology or flight sciences.

In ten years, I see myself as a pilot
with a family and overall having a fun, enjoyable time doing what I love.
